CCC Creates New Position to Benefit Veterans

Corning Community College is pleased to announce the appointment of Tricia Barber as the newest counselor in the College's Advising and Counseling Services department. In addition to her role as a counselor, Ms. Barber will serve as the Coordinator of Veteran Services.

Barber is a Licensed Master Social Worker with more than ten years' experience providing counseling and crisis intervention. She earned a Master's in Social Work ('02) from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY and SUNY Brockport through a collaborative MSW program. Ms. Barber also has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology ('96) from Nazareth College, and holds an Associate's degree from Monroe Community College ('94) in Rochester, NY.

Ms. Barber has served on the Board of Directors for the New York State Division of the National Association of Social Workers and as a volunteer for the Monroe County Disaster Mental Health Team. She has training in short-term, solution-focused therapy; therapeutic crisis intervention; critical incident stress management; and suicide prevention.
