Corning Community College Unveils Kenner Court

Corning Community College is pleased to announce the unveiling of Kenner Court on Saturday, September 26, 2009 in the Gymnasium on the Spencer Hill campus, Corning, NY. On August 3, 1999, CCC suffered the monumental loss of one of its best faculty members, coaches, and mentors. Wayne Kenner, professor in the Math, Physics, Technology Division and Men's Basketball coach, joined the College in 1968. He had a unique ability to reach out to young men from inner-city
circles and offer a life without crime, poverty, and anger by playing basketball at CCC with Coach Kenner at the helm. Ten years have since passed, coaches have come and gone, yet his accomplishments have not faded from memory. He is remembered as a marvelous coach, educator, and gentleman. Many of Coach Kenner's former students and athletes have gone on to become successful professionals who share his determination to "pay it forward." The fact that he succeeded in turning at-risk youth into dedicated students and proven athletes resulted in the achievement of the Red Barons' 500th win on November 10, 1998.

Kenner Court formally acknowledges Coach Kenner's tireless devotion and lasting contributions to Corning Community College and our community. Kenner Court campaign goal is $100,000 with almost $60,000 raised to date through generous donations by the Kenner family, CCC Senior Barons, and friends.

Naming of Kenner Court giving opportunities include:

Player Up to $500

All donations will be recognized in the Kenner Court display and are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law. Receipts will be issued for each payment received. *Gifts over $500 can be payable over time, up to 3 years.
