Atrium Gallery to host Sarah Morgan

Make Your Day Off Pay Off

Corning Community College will host its annual Make Your Day Off Pay Off event on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, in Spencer Pub, Commons Building on the Spencer Hill campus, Corning. Information sessions will be held at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. with campus tours at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m. Participants will attend a general information session, complete a student-led campus tour, enjoy refreshments, and apply for admission to CCC for free. The entire process will take approximately two hours to complete. Space is limited with advance registration required.

Diamonds in the Sky: The Many Deaths of Stars

Corning Community College and the Elmira-Corning Astronomical Society are co-hosting, "Diamonds in the Sky: The Many Deaths of Stars," on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 7 p.m. in the Triangle Lounge, Commons Building, Spencer Hill campus, Corning. This event is part of the Harlow Shapley Visiting Lecture program sponsored by the American Astronomical Society in recognition of the International Year of Astronomy. Dr. Steven Kawaler, professor and director of graduate education in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Iowa State University, will speak about the deaths of stars.

Corning Community College will host Hilby, the Skinny German Juggle Boy, on Saturday, November 7, 2009, 10-11 a.m. in the Main Dining Room, Commons Building, Spencer Hill campus, Corning, as part of the Cool Kids program. As a boy growing up in Berlin, young Hilby boasted no traumatic childhood experiences and exhibited no particular talents other than making funny faces at strangers. Hilby will create unforgettable moments for the audience with death-defying feats and legendary vaudeville style comedy. Much of his inspiration comes from watching children play and learning from them how to look at the world with eyes full of curiosity.

Corning Community College Night at the Elmira Jackals

The Alumni Association will host Corning Community College Night at the Elmira Jackals on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 7:35 p.m. Join CCC alumni and friends at First Arena for a night of fun and excitement when the Elmira Jackals take on the ECHL Trenton Devils. A pre-game party will be held in Beecher Hall at The Park Church, 208 West Gray Street, Elmira, from 5:30-7 p.m. Activities include a special visit with Blade at 5:30 p.m., food from Vincenzos Pizza, CCC SAMballoon giveaways, and free gifts to the first 50 registrants.
